What’s the difference between a Fine Art Print and a GiclĂ©e Print?

FROM ME…NOT TOO MUCH, both are printed on archival quality paper with special light-fast ink, however to use the prestigious title of “giclĂ©e” the prints need to follow some pretty rigid guidelines.  If you see that one of my prints are called a Fine Art Print, instead of a giclĂ©e, it simply means that I photographed the original instead of scanning it.

One of the guidelines for a print to be called a “giclĂ©e”, states that reproductions must come from a scan versus a photograph (that could be skewed or distorted). Since many of my paintings don’t fit on my scanner,  I photograph them. So many artists out there charge big bucks for their giclĂ©e prints, but my giclĂ©es are no more expensive than my fine art prints, because I know you care about quality without getting hung up on the little details.
